The main responsibilities include fostering effective internal and external communication efforts for BLE's stakeholders and ensuring that effective marketing and communication strategies are working to promote the firm and its services. This position is part-time (~20hrs/week) and will be based at BLE's corporate headquarters in Greenville, SC. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Produce and provide continual improvement to marketing collateral, presentations, graphics, and other creative materials.
  • Promote BLE through the development and management of campaigns, news releases, speaking engagements and special events.
  • Engage in written, electronic, social media, web-based, and other marketing methods to brand and communicate with various audiences. This responsibility includes creation of written marketing materials and coordinating various social media activities, etc.
  • Website support - Support ongoing content edits and additions to include project description preparation, general content updates, and staff biography updates.
  • Routine preparation and implementation of various media blasts describing BLEs services and products via email or other digital media (e.g., Mail Chimp, LinkedIn).
  • Assist with preparation and continuous improvement of trade-show banners, brochures, pull-up banners, and other company branded materials using digital graphics software. This position will also work with venders to order and ensure timely delivery of these materials in support of BLE staff, as well as maintain an inventory of marketing materials.
  • Support event planning, logistics, etc., to ensure successful internal and external events.
  • Coordinate with outside firms that BLE contracts for communication consulting, public relations, marketing, graphic design, photography, print materials, web design, etc.
  • Support technical staff in the preparation of Request for Proposals (RFP) and Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to ensure succinct, clear writing support and branding is applied across all deliverables.
  • Support technical staff in the preparation of presentations (i.e., PowerPoint) with preparation, graphics, images, and general branding.

Project Management:

  • Maintain relationships with traditional and digital media providers and publications.
  • Maintain a network of vendors providing various print media.
  • Operate within the confines of marketing budget.
  • Ensure that all communications from and within BLE are integrated and consistent to achieve the most effective results possible.
  • Update and maintain social media platforms (i.e., LinkedIn, Facebook), both in support of individual and company platforms.
  • Support management of BLE website and content update.
  • Maintain a library of graphics, photography, and quotes to be used in marketing efforts.
  • Manage membership relationships with BLEs various professional and public Associations.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a bachelor's program or recent graduate in Journalism, Mass Communications, Marketing and/or related field.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, with the ability to set deadlines for others and keep personal deadlines.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of professionals, while serving as the subsidiary to support marketing and branding efforts.
  • Basic understanding of interactive communications, delivery systems, processes, and industry best practices.
  • Apply best practices to maximize effectiveness in all communication avenues.
  • Professional demeanor, team-oriented, positive, and engaging attitude.
  • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to concisely prepare written and digital media for required audiences.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), and knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop) and use of software such as SurveyMonkey and MailChimp.
  • Experience with Website content development.
  • Experience in graphic design.
  • Strong creative and conceptual thinking skills.
